Germanic Heritage

If you or anyone you know has Germanic heritage . .
Please come and bring guests to  Walt Library 6701 South 14th, Lincoln, Nebraska on Sunday, May 5th from 2:00-4:00 P.M

  • . LLCGS member Lila Garner will draw on her years of genealogical research experiences to provide pointers on doing German related research.
  • You'll also learn more about life in the region and efforts to find information from a guest speaker.  He will relate a personal story of a family’s escape from the Ukraine ahead of the Nazi’s WWII invasion and a search in Germany for the grave of his brother who was killed by a hit and run driver.
  •  Chris Effken, LLCGS German Interest Group leader, will continue to update the Google map with markers indicating where the homes of ancestors of folks attending our German group tend to “cluster”.  We’ll use that info to help support each other when researching a specific region.  To make sure Chris has your information regarding ancestral names and regions you are searching, please email him at ch2effk@gmail.com
I will be researching the REBENSDORF, LITT AND WOLF lines who were from Dinkle, Ukraine, Russia and the GESCH line last from Eastern Berlin, Germany before coming to the US.
